Are you an experienced Systems Engineer looking to work on complex, cutting-edge defence technology? We're looking for a technically driven engineer to play a key role in the design, development and delivery of advanced systems supporting critical defence capabilities.
This is an opportunity to work across the full engineering life cycle, from early-stage research and concept development through to product delivery and in-service support, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on innovative projects involving RF communications, sensors, Position, Navigation & Timing (PNT) and Electronic Warfare (EW) technologies.
The Role
As a Systems Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership across a range of programmes, acting as a System Design Authority and ensuring solutions are delivered to the highest technical standards.
You'll be responsible for:
- Leading system design activities across the full engineering life cycle.
- Providing technical leadership to multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Developing innovative solutions from concept through to delivery.
- Working closely with customers to understand requirements and shape technical solutions.
- Supporting bids, research activities and technology development programmes.
- Managing technical risks and ensuring projects meet performance, quality and delivery objectives.
- Contributing to equipment trials, integration activities and rapid prototyping where required.
What We're Looking For
You'll have:
- A degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Proven Systems Engineering experience across the product development life cycle.
- Experience leading technical teams or acting as a technical authority.
- Knowledge of sensor systems and RF communications.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Current SC Clearance.
Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be highly beneficial:
- Electronic Warfare (EA, ES, ECM, ESM or RF Cyber)
- Software Defined Radios (SDR)
- Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
- FPGA technologies
- RF systems and antennas
- Open architectures such as SOSA, OpenVPX, MORA, OpenCPI or STICS
- Agile, SAFe, Waterfall or Spiral delivery methodologies
- Technical risk and RAID management
