We're seeking a talented individual to join our client's team and play a pivotal role in their mission to support consumers in securing the financial assistance they need. They are a small, but highly regarded and well-funded financing company with a particular focus on the legal sector. They provide financial solutions to clients as a way of funding their legal needs. They are now looking for an additional Portfolio Manager to join the team in London.
Responsibilities
- Validate new business applications.
- Conduct underwriting checks against agreed Credit Policy.
- Prepare credit proposals.
- Coordinate internal approvals.
- Proactively manage the end-to-end pipeline.
- Provide comprehensive reporting from initial inquiries to completed loans.
- Prepare loan documents.
- Assess drawdown requests.
- Obtain case updates from solicitors.
- Maintain complete and accurate case file records.
- Support the maintenance of our loan data systems.
- Provide essential reporting as required.
- Liaise with customers and partner firms via phone and email.
- Contribute as needed to support our team's success.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in a credit/administration role in a financial services business.
- Strong customer service ability and a good telephone manner.
- Good understanding of credit risk and consumer lending.
- IT-savvy with excellent MS Office skills and the ability to adapt to internal systems.
- Exceptional record-keeping skills and proficiency in maintaining internal databases.
- A strong academic record with a minimum of 5 A-C GCSEs.
- Organized, self-motivated, and competent at diary management.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working in a start-up environment.
- Working knowledge of the UK litigation legal sector, preferably family or private client law.
- Experience in managing a portfolio of cases end-to-end.
