A global IT Consultancy is looking for an Infrastructure Technical Architect to deliver hands‑on technical architecture and infrastructure implementation work on a critical programme. This is a full‑time, on‑site contract in Newport, South Wales.

Key details

  • Rate: up to £625/day (inside IR35)
  • Start: ASAP
  • Duration: 6 months
  • Location: Newport, South Wales (100% on‑site)
  • Clearance: Active SC and NPPV3 required

What you’ll be doing

  • Delivering and implementing infrastructure/technical solutions end‑to‑end
  • Owning LLDs, technical documentation and DR planning
  • Managing and supporting infrastructure changes (incl. out‑of‑hours where needed)
  • Providing technical leadership, mentoring and knowledge transfer
  • Working with stakeholders/suppliers/3rd parties to drive delivery

Essential skills & experience

  • Strong virtualisation experience: VMware and/or Hyper‑V
  • Windows Server (2008+ onwards) engineering and support
  • Strong PowerShell Scripting/automation
  • Azure experience (including Azure Local exposure ideal)
  • Solid grasp of enterprise infrastructure best practice and operational processes

Nice to have:

  • Ansible for Windows build automation
