Overview
We're looking for a DV Cleared Event Management Consultant to join a Hosting & Tooling team supporting a critical environment. You'll work across BAU and project activity, shaping event management policy, improving monitoring outcomes, and enhancing operational insight.
Key requirements (must-have)
- Active UK DV clearance
- BMC TrueSight
- Orchestration
- Splunk Enterprise
- Event Management experience
What you'll be doing
- Liaising directly with stakeholder teams, providing guidance and support
- Creating event management policies for internal services and distribution solutions
- Delivering high-level functional analysis to support operational needs
- Maintaining operational tooling in line with service deliverables
- Supporting project tasks and working with project managers and engineers
- Producing technical documentation and architecture diagrams
- Building and maintaining operational dashboards to support service requirements
Experience & technical skills (ideal)
- Strong background in enterprise monitoring/tooling (certifications beneficial)
- Tooling experience including BMC TrueSight, BMC Discovery, and Splunk Agent deployment and management
- Tooling installation/configuration/customisation
- SNMP/MIB management
- Environments: Windows, AIX, Linux
- Scripting/automation: Python and/or PowerShell
- Monitoring exposure (beneficial): Zabbix, Nagios, SolarWinds, HP Openview, Tivoli Monitoring/Netcool
- Good grasp of networking concepts/protocols
- Automation/integration using REST APIs
Splunk depth preferred, including:
- Rule creation and advanced logic
- SPL
- SQL skills
- Dashboard development
