We are seeking an experienced DDI Specialist to lead a large-scale migration from BlueCat to Infoblox within a complex global enterprise environment. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong expertise across DNS, DHCP and IPAM, with responsibility for assessing the current estate, defining the migration strategy and delivering a low-risk implementation across multi-region infrastructure. The successful candidate will also help shape the future-state DDI platform through improved standards, automation, documentation and operational processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the migration from BlueCat to Infoblox
- Assess current DDI estate and define migration strategy
- Deliver DNS, DHCP and IPAM solutions across enterprise-scale environments
- Design and support scalable DDI architectures
- Implement and manage GeoDNS/GSLB solutions
- Integrate DDI services with Active Directory, Hybrid infrastructure environments, and ServiceNow workflows
- Drive automation using Ansible and Terraform
- Improve operational standards, documentation and platform governance
- Ensure minimal disruption to production services during migration activities
Required Experience
Essential
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end DDI migrations
- Strong hands-on expertise with both BlueCat and Infoblox
- Deep technical knowledge of DNS (authoritative, forwarding, conditional forwarding), DHCP (scopes, failover, reservations), and IPAM design and data modelling
- Experience within large-scale, multi-region enterprise environments
- Strong understanding of Active Directory integrated DNS/DHCP and Hybrid infrastructure environments
- Strong automation skills using Ansible and Terraform
- Experience integrating DNS/DHCP services into ServiceNow workflows
- Active SC Clearance
Highly Desirable
- Experience with GeoDNS/GSLB
- Experience designing enterprise DDI architectures
- Strong documentation and operational improvement mindset
Contract Details
- Rate: £450-£500 per day
- Contract Length: 12 Months
- IR35: Inside IR35
- Location: Cambridge (Hybrid)
- Clearance: Active SC Clearance required
