Field Service Engineer - Medical Mobility & Patient Handling Equipment

Location: Cambridgeshire & Surrounding Areas

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (paid door-to-door)

Are you a hands-on engineer looking for a rewarding field-based role with real purpose? We're recruiting a Field Service Engineer to support customers across Cambridgeshire and nearby regions, maintaining and carrying out basic repairs on essential medical mobility equipment. Whether you come from the Armed Forces, mobility/medical equipment, facilities, industrial maintenance, white goods, or any other engineering background, we welcome practical, proactive engineers with strong problem-solving skills. You’ll join a respected service team that plays a vital role in keeping critical mobility and patient-handling equipment operating safely and reliably.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and LOLER testing
  • Diagnosing faults and attending breakdowns
  • Installing, repairing and commissioning mobility and patient-handling equipment (hoists, beds, baths, etc.)
  • Conducting site surveys and installation assessments
  • Completing reports using a PDA and communicating clearly with customers
  • Following Health & Safety and engineering best practice
  • Participating in an on-call rota for emergency support (paid)

What We’re Looking For:

  • Open to engineers from a wide range of industries
  • Armed Forces engineering backgrounds (REME, Royal Navy, RAF Technicians) highly valued
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
  • Willingness to travel across the region and UK wide as required
