CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Fabric Technician to join our Team in Brighton.
Job Summary: Performs a variety of basic, un-skilled Fabric and porterage tasks to maintain structures and grounds for assigned facility site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance of the building fabric as required on the contract i.e painting/decorating/flooring/building works.
- Undertake regular checks and routine inspections on equipment in conjunction with the maintenance team.
- Duties will also include minor tasks such as door locks, light bulb changes etc.
- Porterage duties including loading, unloading, and moving materials. Setting up meetings and conference rooms, arranging tables and chairs as requested. Managing diaries to ensure timely set up and dismantle of all spaces.
- Facilitates office access and office moves, assembling furniture, installing nameplates, etc.
- Minor grounds maintenance of properties performing such tasks as raking, sweeping, leaf blowing or snow removal.
- Carry out escorting duties of sub-contractors as and when required.
- Support in upkeep of the onsite maintenance logbooks.
- Procure materials and equipment to carry out works through Helpdesk, Supervisor or Manager.
- Advise Client of minor additional works and compile estimates through the Supervisor or Manager.
- Attend call outs/breakdowns, carry out fault diagnosis, repair or advise as required.
- Ensure all plant and plant room areas are clean and kept in a safe condition.
- Communicate daily with helpdesk/Supervisor regarding status of PPM and Reactive tasks.
- Be available to carry out necessary works outside normal hours with additional remuneration.
- To ensure the company Health and Safety policy is adhered to.
- To undertake additional PPM/reactive duties in line with capabilities as required i.e. plumbing/mechanical/minor electrical.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Person Specification:
Education: A good basic education is essential, with good written and spoken English and basic Mathematics skills.
Experience: Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a building services environment. Full clean driving license.
Communication Skills: Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.
Circumstances: Willingness to flex hours to support business needs.
