We’re now looking for a Fabric Technician to join our team at a client site in Lutterworth, Leicester.
The Role
As a Fabric Technician, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality fabric maintenance across the site, ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with agreed service levels. You’ll work on a mix of reactive and planned maintenance tasks, liaising with clients and colleagues to keep the workplace operating at its best.
Responsibilities
- Complete reactive maintenance tasks in line with agreed SLAs
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance within set timescales
- Undertake fabric maintenance, including floors, doors, ceilings, and wall coverings
- Perform basic plumbing and carpentry works
- Complete point-of-work risk assessments and follow all H&S requirements
- Use a PDA/mobile device to log works, updates, and communications
- Support minor project works as required
- Liaise professionally with client representatives
- Induct, permit, monitor, and chaperone subcontractors when necessary
- Ensure all work is completed safely and to CBRE standards
- Provide on-call cover on a rota basis (approximately 1 week in every 4)
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fabric maintenance
- Experience working in a heavy industrial or similar environment
- City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent qualification in carpentry and/or plumbing
- Full UK driving licence
- Good IT skills and confidence using mobile/PDA systems
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and instructions
- Knowledge of health & safety procedures, including COSHH, working at height, and risk assessments
- Well-organised, self-motivated, and able to manage workloads independently
