Overview
Senior Facade Consultant role at CBRE UK. The position involves leading façade consultancy scopes across design, construction and maintenance, and collaborating with clients, architects, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery façade consultancy scopes, considering façade design, construction and maintenance principles.
- Engage with professionals within the building industry, including clients, Building Managers, architects & designers, contractors, manufacturers, etc., and attend/lead meetings as required.
- Carry out regular inspections and condition surveys of old and new facades; allocate resources in line with client deadlines and availability.
- Produce high-quality reports, including Technical Due Diligence reports for property acquisitions, sales or refinancing, and PPM documentation.
- Undertake initial QA of reports from other team members and ensure procedures are followed in readiness for Director approval.
- Review and prepare budget costs for instructions and support the team in preparing budget costs for projects.
- Prepare fee proposals, check fees from others, and ensure Director review before issuing to the Client.
- Ensure internal project administration procedures are followed; support junior team members and share knowledge during delivery.
- Collaborate with CBRE teams and encourage others to support the project and company goals.
- Prepare and present regular CPD-style presentations to colleagues.
- Manage time efficiently across workflows; inform the Team Leader if process, delivery or quality issues arise and provide resolutions.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Essential: 5+ years hands-on experience in the façade industry.
- Knowledge of building construction and façade systems with ability to assess façade defects.
- Educational background: MSc in Facade Engineering or equivalent; membership in the Society of Façade Engineering or working towards membership.
- Conversant with main façade materials, performance/degradation modes, standards (British, European, and international), and façade testing procedures.
- Commercial understanding of fees and budgets is an advantage.
- Ability to work within CBRE by Turner Townsend framework; focus on CPD, professional development, and adherence to CBRE RI SE values (Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence).
