We are recruiting a Shift Fabric Technician to join the team located in London.
The Fabric Engineer / Technician is responsible for delivering high-quality fabric maintenance across the site, ensuring that all PPM tasks, KPIs and reactive jobs are completed to a high standard. The role includes painting and decorating, minor repairs, general building fabric upkeep, small remedial works and supporting the wider engineering team with maintaining a safe and well-presented environment. You will act as a key point for day-to-day building upkeep while ensuring all tasks are completed through the CAFM system.

- Weekly alternating:
- Shift / Week 1: 07:00 - 16:00
- Shift / Week 2: 10:00 - 19:00
Role Summary:
- As a CBRE Fabric Technician, you will be responsible for proactive and reactive building maintenance and repair services for client contracts.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks and ensure all KPIs, SLAs and compliance deadlines are met.
- Complete minor fabric repairs including fixing broken fixtures, fittings, doors, locks, tiles and general building fabric issues.
- Undertake painting and decorating duties such as touch-ups, refreshing walls and maintaining overall site appearance.
- Deliver small remedial works, basic carpentry, plaster patching, tightening/replacing components and general handyman-style tasks.
- Move, assemble, relocate or reconfigure office and site furniture when required.
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests, minimising disruption to the site.
- Maintain tidy, safe and professional work areas, following all CBRE Health & Safety procedures.
- Liaise with Engineers, Supervisors and the site team to ensure PPMs, KPIs and reactive works stay on track.
- Conduct regular building walkarounds to identify defects early and proactively raise/fix issues.
- Support the wider FM team with reasonable additional tasks to ensure smooth site operations.
- Update and manage all work tasks through the CAFM system, ensuring accurate logging, status updates and completion notes.
Experience Required:
- Experience in a fabric, building maintenance, handyman or general FM repair role.
- Good understanding of basic carpentry, decorating, minor repairs and general building maintenance.
- Formal trade qualification in a building fabric discipline (e.g., Carpentry, Painting & Decorating, Plastering, General Building Maintenance).
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in a relevant trade (or equivalent experience).
- Ability to work safely and follow all Health & Safety procedures.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with clients and site teams.
- Confident working independently and managing own workload.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to use or learn CAFM systems for logging and updating tasks.
