We are currently recruiting a Fabric Technician to join our on-site facilities team covering sites around the Northeast.
As a Fabric Technician, you will carry out a range of fabric maintenance and repair activities, supporting the day-to-day operation of the site. You'll respond to reactive works, complete planned maintenance activities, and work closely with clients, contractors, and the wider FM team to ensure a safe, compliant, and effective service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to reactive maintenance tasks in line with agreed SLAs
- Complete planned preventative maintenance within agreed timescales
- Carry out general fabric maintenance, including floors, doors, ceilings and wall coverings
- Undertake basic plumbing and carpentry repairs
- Complete point of work risk assessments and follow all health & safety procedures
- Liaise professionally with client representatives regarding maintenance tasks
- Use a PDA to log works, update job statuses and communicate effectively
- Support minor project works when required
- Induct, permit, monitor and chaperone subcontractors as needed
- Participate in an on-call rota (average 1 week in every 4)
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in fabric maintenance
- Experience working within a heavy industrial or similar environment
- City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent qualification in Carpentry and/or Plumbing
- Good understanding of H&S requirements (e.g. COSHH, risk assessments, working at height)
- Ability to interpret drawings, instructions, and technical processes
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload
- Good customer service and communication skills
- PC literate and comfortable using mobile job management systems
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexible and willing to take part in the on-call rota
