We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Technician to join our team in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive mechanical maintenance and repair services, with a strong focus on fan coil units (FCUs), pumps, Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems, and Air Handling Units (AHUs). This role requires a proactive individual with excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, capable of delivering exceptional service to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems, including FCUs, pumps, VAV systems, and AHUs.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Conduct thorough inspections and testing of mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Provide a full-service approach to AHU maintenance, including filter changes, coil cleaning, belt replacements, and motor inspections.
- Carry out repairs and replacements of mechanical components, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and equipment logs.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and client requirements.
- Respond promptly to emergency callouts and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to deliver integrated building services solutions.
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, providing clear and concise updates on work progress and technical issues.
- Maintain and manage tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Provide technical advice and support to clients and colleagues as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance and repair, specifically with FCUs, pumps, VAV systems, and AHUs.
- Strong understanding of HVAC principles and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid UK driving license (preferred).
- Experience with building management systems (BMS) is a plus.
- Experience in the full servicing of AHUs.
