CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Facilities Manager to join the team located in Bristol. The purpose of the Engineering Facilities Manager role is to have overall responsibility for a group of properties in line with all Health & Safety, environmental, company procedures, general legislation, and client/tenant requirements. In addition to traditional FM duties, the role will lead and supervise a distributed team of Facilities Maintenance Engineers across sites nationwide, ensuring strong performance, technical excellence, and high levels of customer service. The position will be primarily based in the South West, with occasional national travel to support engineers and ensure consistent service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, support and supervise a team of Facilities Maintenance Engineers across multiple sites.
  • Plan, allocate and oversee engineering workloads including PPM, reactive tasks and statutory compliance.
  • Conduct regular site visits, performance check‐ins and wellbeing reviews with engineers nationwide.
  • Act as the first point of technical escalation and ensure work is delivered safely and to standard.
  • Monitor engineering KPIs such as PPM completion, first‐time fix and compliance performance.
  • Review and approve engineer documentation (permits, RAMS, job sheets, statutory records).
  • Drive Health & Safety culture through safe systems of work and adherence to legislation.
  • Identify training needs and support technical development and upskilling of engineers.
  • Ensure resource planning, including holiday approvals, call‐out cover and rota management.
  • Build strong relationships with client stakeholders and provide technical input where required.
  • Any other duties as in accordance with the needs of the business.

Person Specification / Requirements

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience within engineering or facilities management.
  • Proven facilities management background, including line management of engineers, contractors and service partners, with experience overseeing technical service delivery.
  • Strong customer service focus with excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder‐management skills.
  • IT‐literate, with confidence using CAFM systems and other industry‐specific applications.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and environmental requirements; IOSH or NEBOSH qualification preferred.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a wider team, with strong organisational, planning and problem‐solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‐paced, pressurised environment while maintaining accuracy and service quality.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead, coach and develop engineering teams across multiple locations.
  • Sound technical awareness of building services and maintenance operations.
