Mobile Multi-Skilled HVAC Engineer

Overview

Role and responsibilities involve electrical and mechanical maintenance of HVAC plant and building services, implementation of preventative maintenance, risk management on site, and collaboration with the client to ensure safe, efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Identify and manage risks to the client through on-site equipment, including identifying critical spares, improving plant and equipment performance, managing environmental conditions on site through the BMS system, and improving and implementing the preventative maintenance program.
• Use new equipment and technologies to maintain a working and comfortable environment, liaising with the client on requests for reactive and PPM tasks.
• Fault find on all types of HVAC plant and equipment with a bias to maintenance of Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) systems; work with refrigerants and hold the necessary qualifications in handling F-Gas.
• Support others in the team in relation to Health and Safety.
• Perform the role of Energy Champion and assist in the role of Safety Champion for the site.
• Provide Electrical and Mechanical expertise to the Maintenance team.
• Write and follow Risk Assessments and be available to question issues arising from them safely and accurately.
• Complete the required documentation as specified by all rules and legislation.
• Use Mobile Devices to accurately project and complete works from the CAFM maintenance system.
• Use email and calendars to plan daily work requirements so that tasks are completed efficiently.
• Liaise with the onsite Supervisor and Account Manager to manage Building Services issues, responding confidently and accurately as required.
• Be the responsible person when required for the team and deputise for the site supervisor during annual leave or sickness where required.
• Work overtime as required by the business, which may include nights and weekends with limited notice.
• Perform ad hoc duties as required.
• Supervise and manage sub-contractors.
• Participate on an on-call rota for emergency call-out purposes outside normal working hours.

Qualifications

• A Recognised or Time Served Apprenticeship
• Strong proven experience in HVAC maintenance
• Mechanical Competences/Qualifications to an acceptable standard to City and Guilds Mechanical
• Good multi-skilled ability
• Ability to fault find
• Ability to supervise contractors
• Able to complete Risk Assessments and Method Statements
• Able to understand and write Permits and safe systems of work
• F-Gas safe handling and use of refrigerants
• Desirable
