About the Role: CBRE Project Management is seeking an experienced Cost Manager to join our team supporting one of our largest global financial services clients. Working as part of a dedicated account team, you will play a key role in delivering strategic cost management across a diverse portfolio of projects. This is a client-facing position with a strong emphasis on pre-construction cost management, partnering closely with project managers, designers, consultants and stakeholders to influence project outcomes from the earliest stages. Whilst the role is heavily front-end focused, you will remain involved throughout the full project lifecycle, providing commercial oversight from initial feasibility through to project close-out. Pre-Construction

  • Provide commercial input into the 'Corporate Services Capital Plan' (CSCP) for the MEP Asset Replacement across their EMEA Portfolio for the next 5 years
  • Produce high level Rough Order of Magnitude budgets using market knowledge and scope provided by CBRE Engineering Team for approval by the client
  • Implement Value Management and Value Engineering process' to ensure design is aligning to budge
  • Support the project approval process by engaging with the client's finance team to calculate the P&L to determine financially viability
  • Lead procurement of project team (Architect, PM, CM, Engineer) and use the in-house procurement system to issue and review RFP's. Following analysis of the submissions, provide a recommendation to the client.
  • Produce Purchase Order and Task Order's for Consultants and General Contractors against existing Framework Agreements liasing with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and timely approval
  • Ad Hoc MEP Support - i.e. budgetary advice for cost estimates, producing tender packs as well as reviewing tender returns for MEP specifically

Post Construction

  • Support the Scope Revision process when a material change in Scope is required
  • Produce monthly client cost reports using information provided by local cost consultant for presentation to client
  • Utilising 'In House' cost reporting system to oversee projects (including change management), ensuring these align with the monthly client cost report
  • Review and manage variations
  • Review and approve invoices ensuring these are completed in accordance with CBRE's account KPI timescales
  • Project Final Account and Close Out within KPI dates to ensure compliance with CBRE's account KPI timescales
  • Collate benchmarking information from previous projects to support future Stay v Go Strategies
  • Ad Hoc MEP Support - i.e. reviewing variations and budgeting for potential Scope Revisions

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • At least 3 years of MEP experience
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
