Job Purpose
To form part of a split team and work as part of a 4 on 4 off waste and void team member. To carry out waste, void and cleaning services as per the given schedules and client’s specifications at any one time. To be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of yourself and your colleagues. To take full ownership of the responsibilities that have been given within your job role.
Accountabilities or “what you have to do”
- Undertake all required training in relation to all aspects of your role.
- Undertake any ad‑hoc training requirements requested by our client or management team.
- Support any holiday or sickness cover requirements as and when requested.
- Ensure that all services are delivered to the highest standard and in line with the given process and policy guidelines.
- Adhere to any performance improvement planning as directed by your management team.
- Be accountable for your own time and attendance ensuring all absence processes/policies are followed.
- Support your teams holiday planning in line with the current processes/policies.
- Wear the company uniform at all times whilst at work.
- Wear any items of personal protective equipment, as specified by the management team/Client.
- Comply with all client policies/procedures in relation to housekeeping/infection control/security.
- Ensure that all requirements in relation to health and safety and COSHH are adhered to.
- Ensure that all requirements of the specified service offer are carried out, and as directed by the Management team.
- Attend to all faults in relation to machinery/equipment and report in line with the current processes.
- Report all building defects to your management team.
- Attend staff team briefings, as requested by your management team.
- Attend team/client meetings, as required.
- Complete all administration, as specified by your management.
- Perform other such duties as may be reasonably requested by your management team.

- No justifiable complaints from departmental leads/client staff within your scope of works.
- Pass mark achieved in quality & health and safety control audits for all areas within your responsible scope of works.
- No issues and concerns highlighted in relation to health and safety.
- All training completed in line with site policies.
- All aspects of the relevant waste and void controls managed effectively.
- All health and safety issues addressed and recorded within agreed time scale.
- All faults and defects addressed within agreed timescales and site processes.
- All administration completed within agreed timescales.
- Zero service gaps.
Working Hours
Pre‑fixed - PM shift 4 on 4 off 19:30 – 07:00 or AM shift 07:30 – 19:00. Holiday accruals will be in line with your contract of employment multiplied by 7.5 hours and divided by 10.5 hour shifts. Daily working hours - 10.5 hours per day paid with two 30 minute unpaid breaks. Flexible shift - To support second shift waste and void team as and when required 4 on 4 off 07:30 – 19:00. Weekends are expected for Ad‑Hoc works where no other team lead can be arranged subject to shift pattern alignment. Overtime is expected where special circumstances occur. Bank Holidays are expected to form part of the 4 on 4 off roster subject to client’s business needs at any one time. Due to the nature of the site and its business there may be reasonable justification to change your current working hours in line with the business demands; this will fall in line with your terms and conditions of employment and any stated processes will be adhered to before change is applied.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Experience of the undertaking of all waste handling and cleaning tasks.
- Experience in operating FLT and Pedestrian Pallet Trucks.
- Basic numeric/literacy skills.
Desirable
- NVQ.
- BICSc.
- Computer literate.
- FLT Licenced.
