This Data Centre Operation Control Centre Manager is fully accountable for the performance and efficiency of the OCC Manager and will operate from Monday to Friday (08:00 to 17:00). The role will manage a team that is the first response to all critical alarm notifications across campuses and will provide remote support and client communications as per the incident management process.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operation of the area maintenance team to ensure effective operation of hard services facilities across data centres.
  • Maintain high level service delivery and complete reactive tasks on time within customer SLA.
  • Manage switching operations across site utilizing Engineering shift teams.
  • Organise data centre critical switching and arrange mock drills and continuous improvement.
  • Manage all incidents across site, both project and operational, ensuring correct communication process.
  • Ensure all reactive and breakdown works to M&E systems and infrastructure within campus compound are promptly completed.
  • Promote foundation to operational excellence through risk management, metrics reporting, risk assessment and quality assurance.
  • Act as first response to BMS alarm notifications across campuses and provide information to Client Service Desk Team and CBRE Senior Management Team.

Primary Objectives

  • Manage staff, operation and maintenance within BCR and BEMS systems.
  • Direct, instruct and manage all CBRE staff under their control and SSP's ensuring compliance with working practices.
  • Complete weekly operations report and attend client meetings as required.
  • Conduct regular reviews of operating procedures and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain quality throughout facilities and ensure statutory, policy and contractual commitments are met.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and direct support to deliver best practice selection, training and reward.

Main Duties

  • Monitor and respond to BMS & EMS alarms for specific buildings.
  • Provide 24/7/365 days support to CBRE and client facilities team as part of a 2 person shift team plus standby role.
  • Escalate incoming alarms and produce concise updates on actions taken.
  • Ensure routine maintenance meets and exceeds expectations and agreed SLA.
  • Issue and ensure appropriate controls within Permit to Work systems.
  • Supervise engineering subcontractors and ensure compliance with contractual commitments and site operating processes.
  • Communicate effectively to client employees and contractors working onsite.
  • Update client permitting and ticketing and continuously check client system site works.
  • Maintain comprehensive maintenance records in task sheets.
  • Remote reset units and adjust critical temperatures for sites if requested.
  • Analyse PUE data for the client team.
  • Ensure the site operates to a high Health & Safety standard with Engineering Excellence in mind.

Contract Specific Responsibilities

  • Navigate internal and client CAFM systems within contract portfolio to feed accurate information.
  • Support engineers to meet SLA for maintenance and extra works.
  • Compile and analyse key data for monthly reporting to Data Centre Manager.
  • Keep concise records of events during escalations.
  • Upload all subcontractor packs to client document management system.
  • Manage incident prioritisation and closure, providing root cause analysis and 5-why analogy within agreed timelines.

Core Competencies

  • Experience in Building Services industry.
  • HV Authorised Person (Preferable).
  • Formal Electrical or Mechanical training at least city and guilds level, or higher.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Lead, motivate and direct a team of technicians/operatives.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety issues, NEBOSH / IOSH training desirable.
  • Conversant with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in BEMS & CAFM System.
  • Qualitative formal qualification desirable.
