Job Purpose
The purpose of the Technical Specialist role is to support the Technical Compliance Manager in all technical and compliance-related matters, with a focus on electrical systems. This role operates within a technical team responsible for overseeing a wide range of specialist equipment. The position includes acting as an Authorised Person for both LV and HV systems and working with third-party suppliers to maintain electrical assets.
Responsibilities
- Support all technical and compliance aspects of the account.
- Ensure statutory compliance across all services and assets (e.g., electrical, LOLER, PUWER, Fire Safety) by coordinating inspections, maintenance, and follow-up actions in line with required frequencies.
- Assist the Technical Compliance Manager across all engineering disciplines as needed.
- Assess and assign team members to electrical tasks and roles based on competency.
- Act as an Electrical Authorised Person, responsible for conducting isolations and switching across the account.
- Assist in managing HV systems in collaboration with approved third-party contractors.
- Attend meetings and provide technical support to the operations team for troubleshooting and procedural guidance.
- Collaborate closely with the Technical Compliance Manager and other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within the team.
- Update electrical models in EOM (Amtech) following system modifications.
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes.
- Attend training sessions and actively engage in personal and professional development.
Accountabilities
- Reports to the CBRE Technical Compliance Manager.
- Responsible for ensuring the delivery of services as per contractual obligations.
- Acts as the Electrical Responsible Engineer for CBRE.
Education
- Desirable to be HNC educated, time served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent. Extensive experience considered as an alternative.
Training
- Technical training qualifications in electrical engineering. (LVAP, HVAP, 18 th edition, inspection and Testing).
- Recognised H&S qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH).
