Job Title: Mobile Fabric Maintenance Engineer
CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are currently recruiting a Mobile Fabric Maintenance Engineer to support our client portfolio across a designated region.
This mobile, van-based role calls for a practical, hands-on professional with a strong understanding of building fabric systems, finishes, and minor carpentry and plumbing works. The ideal candidate will thrive on variety, problem-solving, and taking pride in delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance .
Role Summary:
• Attend and resolve reactive fabric maintenance tasks across multiple client sites within agreed SLAs
• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) routines, focusing on building fabric upkeep and aesthetic standards
• Undertake general repairs and minor works, including door and lock repairs, patch plastering, painting, tiling, basic plumbing and carpentry
• Deliver small-scale fabric installations or refurbishments as required
• Identify and report any defects or additional works to ensure ongoing compliance and functionality
• Complete accurate records of work, risk assessments, and job status updates using internal systems
• Liaise confidently with site contacts and the Technical Services Manager to escalate critical issues
• Participate in the on-call rota, providing support for emergency repairs and out-of-hours service
• Ensure that all work complies with health, safety, and environmental standards
• Use handheld devices and digital systems to log jobs, quotes, and remedial actions
Experience Required:
Essential:
• Proven experience in fabric maintenance, handyman services, or multi-trade repair roles within commercial or industrial buildings
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Strong working knowledge of building fabric systems, including joinery, painting, basic plumbing, and minor repairs
• Ability to work independently, manage daily schedules, and respond to tasks across a range of sites
• Sound understanding of health and safety practices within maintenance environments
