PURPOSE OF THE JOB

  • Act as primary point of contact for Hub Managers, keeping all managers fully appraised on live engineering actions and issues.
  • Liaise with Hub Managers for access to scientific areas where engineering activities are to take place.
  • Liaise with H&S representatives as required for the safe implementation of engineering work.
  • Coordinator between Hub Managers and CBRE Engineering managers to deliver both PPM and reactive engineering work.
  • Agree an effective PPM planner in collaboration with the Hub managers for M&E Managers to deliver planned preventative maintenance activities within the lab spaces.
  • Attend daily/weekly/monthly F&I operational meeting and update the group on all actions relating to engineering activities.
  • Provide feedback to M&E Managers regarding client expectations and issues affecting scientific operations, ensuring the communication loop between F&I and science departments is maintained at all times.
  • Ensure that the CBRE Managed Services Safety Rules and Procedures are adhered to by all site personnel.
  • Liaise with CBRE site Manager(s) and Client(s) to ensure all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with site policies and procedures and within health and safety legislative requirements.
  • To agree specifications with the client for extra works on hub floors, and then liaise with prospective subcontractors and prepare quotation to be submitted to the client via web quote. Utilise tech knowledge of CBRE Ops managers to ensure specifications correct.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To provide professional control of all Electrical and Mechanical facilities / systems / works within the Laboratory Spaces (L1-L5) to ensure the contractual responsibilities are exceeded working with CBRE Ops Managers and Hub Leads.
  • Assist the Account Director and Managers to carry out interviews for staff vacancies.
  • Provide guidance and advice on contractors RAMS for non-routine works on site, as required.
  • Take ownership of performance management of both individual and team responsibility through a set of agreed KPI’s and SLA’s, agree corrective/improvement actions required and implement accordingly.
  • Assist in the development and adherence to method statements, ensuring best working practices are established and maintained.
  • Work with sub-contractors involved in plant and equipment maintenance to ensure highest possible standards of maintenance are achieved.
  • Liaise with site and client management during any emergency operations or procedures; support the team with OOH attendance during emergencies (critical environment).
  • Assist client with resolution of technical matters arising from installed equipment or maintenance of this equipment taking advice from the BU Technical Manager and CBRE Ops Managers.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • To be customer focused and well presented in order to provide the customer and clients an exemplary service; a good communicator.
  • Experience in service delivery acting as the focal point of communication between Science (end user) and HardFM team.
  • Relevant experience managing direct line reports.
  • IOSH or equivalent health and safety qualifications/experience, preferred.
  • A broad understanding of Hard FM activities and Building Services.
  • Exhibit at all times an awareness of safety procedures and practices.
  • Show diligence in safe working methods both for CBRE Managed Services staff and occupants of the premises we are working in.
  • Impart knowledge and safety training to all members of staff as required.
  • Leadership qualities with experience at leading/managing teams and client interfacing.
  • Competent with IT - word/excel/CAFM systems and report writing skills.
