Job Description

The Global Trading Hours team is hiring a Trade Desk Associate in London.

Cboe Europe Limited is seeking a highly motivated individual with a technical mindset and excellent communication skills to join our Global Trading Hours (GTH) team.

GTH is Cboe’s trading session outside US regular hours, and this London shift is the desk that supports the US markets while they trade through the European day.

That window keeps widening as Cboe moves toward a near 23x5 schedule.

These are real-time, low latency systems used by the most demanding professional market participants.

The problems are challenging but rewarding, and we look forward to hearing from you if you feel up to the task.

Specific hours will be confirmed during the hiring process.

The role requires working in several UK public holidays, with time off in lieu.

In this role you will be responsible for

  • First-level and first-class support, answering questions and resolving participant issues related to trading, market data and technology across the GTH session.
  • Handling inbound calls and email traffic for the desk, and monitoring all trading, reporting and market data systems proactively.
  • Supporting the day-to-day tasks associated with operations, trade support and oversight of live production trading systems.
  • Onboarding new clients, establishing client access to platforms, provisioning new services and providing ongoing oversight and monitoring.
  • Certification testing, logical port creation and modification of default settings.
  • Coordinating incident management across teams and conducting post-incident review, then tracking the follow-up actions to closure.
  • Documenting issue resolution and communication to market participants and vendors.
  • Testing changes to systems and platform functionality before deployment, including internal and industry-wide weekend testing.

We’re an AI-forward desk.

You’ll be encouraged to use the AI assistant of your choice provided by Cboe, and supported with the team’s toolkit, connectors and curated learning paths to get good at it quickly.

Every associate here carries at least one AI-related goal.

We care that you understand the answer and can stand behind it, not which tool helped you get there.

The ideal candidate has

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or another related field.
  • A desire to increase securities market expertise and to become proficient with Cboe technology.
  • A willingness to use AI tooling to work faster, paired with the judgement to verify every output before it reaches a customer or a production system.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of an international team, and to work well under pressure.

You’ll really stand out with

  • Fluency with the AI assistant of your choice, and a track record of using it to remove repetitive work rather than just to answer questions.
  • Familiarity with version control and Git workflows for operational scripts and tooling.
  • Experience monitoring and supporting production mission-critical trading and market data systems.
  • Familiarity with the FIX protocol and low latency trading systems.
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals and debugging tools (telnet, ping, traceroute, netstat, Wireshark).
  • Linux/UNIX skills and SQL proficiency.
  • A programming skillset, e. g., Python or similar.
  • A data analytics skillset, e. g., SQL, Sigma, Snowflake or similar.

Benefits And Perks

  • Fair and competitive salary and incentive compensation packages with an upside for overachievement
  • Comprehensive private medical insurance for employees and their families which includes dental cover (taxable benefit)
  • Cboe pays for employee access to a private GP service (face to face or phone call consultations) to make it easy and convenient for you to see a doctor
  • Life and long term illness insurance for stability and peace of mind
  • EAP - This service intends to help employees deal with personal problems that might adversely impact their work performance, health and well-being.

This service includes short-term counselling and referral services for employees and their immediate family.

  • Enhanced paid parental and adoption leave to support parents
  • Cboe offers pensions contribution up to 7% of base salary. You don’t have to contribute yourself.
  • 25 days holiday per year per holiday year for full time employees, increasing with length of service at a rate of one extra day per completed years’ service, up to a maximum of 30 days.
  • Discounted Employee Stock Purchase Plan
  • Employee referral bonus program
  • Complimentary lunch, snacks and drinks in any Cboe office
  • Paid tuition assistance and education opportunities
  • Generous charitable giving company match
  • Volunteer opportunities to help you give back to your communities
  • Equal Employment Opportunity

We're proud to be an equal opportunity employer - and celebrate our associates' differences, including race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age and disability.
