Why this role stands out

When a teacher is off-site, learning shouldnt drop into cruise control. Armed with a degree, sharp behaviour-management instincts and a sense of humour that never tips into stand-up comedy, youll walk into a room of teenagers and keep the lessonand the classon track.

A day in the life

Responsibilities

  • Collect the plan, own the room. The lesson is written; you bring it to life.
  • Hold the line. Spot wandering minds at twenty paces and reel them back in calmly and fairly.
  • Guide, dont lecture. Answer questions, nudge thinking, then watch the penny drop.
  • Log the essentials. Take the register, note achievements (or antics) and hand the intel to staff.
  • Repeat with new faces. One period its Macbeth, the next its mitochondria. Variety comes as standard.

Requirements

  • A degree in any subject (your academic anchor).
  • Solid experience with young people—school, coaching, tutoring or youth work counts.
  • Behaviour-management confidence: firm, consistent, and hard to faze.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or youre happy for us to arrange one).
  • Clear, professional communication and the poise to step in at short notice.

Benefits

  • Pick-and-mix scheduling—choose the days and schools that suit your life.
  • Weekly pay straight into your account—no umbrella deductions.
  • CPD on tap—behaviour strategies, safeguarding refreshers and more, all free.
  • A single, switched-on Account Manager who answers the phone faster than Year 9 can ask, Do we need our books?
  • A foot in the door of multiple schools—ideal if youre considering teacher training down the line.

Excell Supply is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All roles require enhanced DBS clearance and the legal right to work in the UK.
