This is a 12-month fixed term position based offshore on the Cygnus Alpha on a 2/3 rota.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate as part of an integrated operations team, responsible to execute Production and Utility operations and associated activities in a safe, timely and quality manner, in support of maximizing plant uptime, maintaining equipment operations within design envelope, sustaining accommodation support systems and achieving business objectives.
  • Execute Production and Utility operations activities.
  • Undertake first line maintenance and system monitoring.
  • Safely implement Process Isolation Procedure and undertake reinstatement of plant after interventions.
  • Assist other disciplines, 3rd party contractors and vendors, as required.
  • Permit-to-Work Area Operator, as directed, for simple works execution.
  • Permit-to-Work Isolation Authority, as directed, for simple works execution.
  • Control of Works, Emergency Response and supplemental roles, as assigned.
  • Member of Normally Unmanned Installation Intervention Team, as required.
  • Deputize as Lead Production Technician, as required.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner, in compliance and accordance with Neptune Operations Integrity Management System, statutory Health and Safety Procedures, Maintenance Manuals, specific Working Instructions, Safe Systems of Work (Control of Work / Permit to Work), recommended Safe Working Practices and any temporary Bridging Documents in effect.
  • Actively participate in thorough pre-job risk assessments for all non-routine activities and confirm that they are accurately reflected in the resultant Permit to Work.
  • Actively participate in pre-job toolbox talks for all medium to high-risk activities.
  • Actively participate in pre-job site inspections for all works.
  • Ensure all required Personal Protection Equipment is appropriately used.
  • Ensure all work party members, especially 3rd party personnel, fully understand the purpose of, and can use, required Emergency Response Equipment.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with established clean workplace practices.
  • Monitor and record all discharges and emissions in compliance with Environmental Procedures and Installation Oil Spill Contingency Plan.
  • Ensure that all incidents and accidents, near misses and non-conformances are fully reported, and support any resultant corrective action, as required.
  • Under direction, undertake production and utility operations activities in accordance with established procedures, including routine inspection and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Under direction, respond to abnormal (H/L alarm) or critical (HH/LL alarm) conditions, to assist to rectify the issue and restore system normality in a safe, timely and effective manner.
  • Under direction undertake accurate sampling, testing and reporting in accordance with established procedures.
  • Provide support for maintenance and modification works as directed by the Production Supervisor. Support to isolate and flush/purge plant/equipment for maintenance as directed.
  • Prepare comprehensive daily activity, inspection and preventative maintenance records.
  • Prepare Shift Handover Logs of all relevant activities, events, issues and incomplete works.
  • Ensure, General Assistants and 3rd party vendors, equipment specialists and maintenance contract personnel onsite conform and comply with applicable rules and regulations, provide guidance as required.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Appropriate Vocational Qualification or Certification in Outside Production Process Operations.
  • Previous experience in the oil & gas industry working as a Production Technician, preferably on a Gas Processing Facility.
  • Experience, and competent with the operation and preventative maintenance.
  • Gas and Condensate Process.
  • Process Control (Manual activities for Shut-down, Start-up, Isolation, Upset Response).
  • Wellheads and Production Xmas-Trees manual operation and preventative maintenance.
  • Water-Oil-Condensate-Gas Separation systems.
  • Acid Gas Removal systems.
  • Produced Gas Dehydration systems.
  • Gas Compressors (Centrifugal and Screw & Lobe).
  • Pumps (Centrifugal, Screw & Lobe and Positive Displacement).
  • Flare and Vent systems.
  • Pig Launching / Receiving.
  • Chemical Treatment.
  • Laboratory Testing of Gas, Condensate, Water and Inorganic Content.
  • Utility Systems.
  • Experience working with: Safe Systems and Control of Work (Pt W) as Area Operator.
  • Respected, contributory team member able to establish rapport with others.
