KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Senior Contracts Engineer will manage allocated contract activities for Asset Solutions in the support of tenders and existing client contract management.
- Working alongside the commercial team, the Senior Contracts Engineer is required to work on their own initiative, effectively managing timelines received and dealing directly with all key business stakeholders to execute required contract documentation in line with Petrofac best practice.
- The Senior Contracts Engineer will be required to work with the technical and functional specialists to review, draft, negotiate and finalize contractual documentation where Petrofac are providing services to its clients.
- Prepare contractual responses to ITT’s and proposal requests from Clients.
- Review and qualify clients T&C’s in line with Petrofac procedures and best practice.
- Manage the review and negotiation process and coordinate with all team members as required.
- Work with the technical team to develop and align contractual responses taking into account the scope of work.
- Coordinate input and work with all Petrofac stakeholders including Compliance, Legal, Finance, Insurance, Tax, Security etc.
- Coordinate and manage the contract review process.
- Ensure the contractual position is approved in line with Petrofac’s Risk Review process and work with the commercial team to ensure all required approvals are obtained taking into account the scope in question.
- Maintain approval records and close out actions.
- Develop and negotiate MOU’s and Collaboration Agreements with key partners to support business growth.
- Review and negotiate confidentiality agreements.
- Work with the commercial and operational management team to ensure that service delivery is compliant with contractual terms.
- Support the subcontracts team in ensuring that risk is appropriately flowed down to the relevant subcontracts on a back-to-back basis.
- Advising the team on matters of contractual interpretation, identification of and management of key contractual risks in support in the resolution of contractual claims and disputes.
- Promote consistency of approach and the adoption of best practice throughout all regions.
- Maintain adherence to strong contracting processes and procedures while working.
- Gain a full understanding of company procedures and processes and follow these principles in all aspects of the role.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Legal degree or similar equivalent.
- Experience in a similar role preferred.
- Knowledge and experience of LOGIC and in general key contracting principles.
- Strong experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating terms and conditions.
- Experience working within an active and lively operational team.
- Ability to work independently and have excellent communication, listening and presentation skills.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work under own initiative and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
