We are seeking a Head of Risk to join our dynamic team at CBCX, a leading CFDs liquidity provider. The Head of Risk will be responsible for overseeing trading activities, managing risk, and optimizing profitability in the CFD markets. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in managing CFDs risk across a wide range of asset classes, such as forex, commodities, indices, and equities. You will work closely with trade tech, compliance, and other departments to ensure efficient execution and adherence to regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trading Execution: Execute CFD trades on behalf of clients and proprietary accounts in line with the company\’s strategy, focusing on profitability and minimizing risk.
- Market Monitoring: Monitor global financial markets in real-time, identifying trading opportunities and managing market risks.
- Risk Management: Develop and implement effective risk management strategies, ensuring that risk limits and trading strategies align with the firm\’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
- Spread and Liquidity Management: Manage and optimize spreads, ensuring competitive pricing for clients while maintaining profitability. Work with liquidity providers to ensure deep liquidity in all market conditions.
- Client Interaction: Support client trading activities by providing market insights, technical analysis, and guidance on strategies related to CFD trading. Maintain excellent relationships with high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and institutional clients.
- Data Analysis: Use quantitative and qualitative data analysis to assess market trends, improve decision-making, and refine trading strategies.
- Automation and Algorithms: Collaborate with the technology team to enhance trading systems, algorithms, and automated trading strategies for CFDs.

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field. A master\’s degree or professional qualification (e.g., CFA, FRM) is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in trading platforms such as cTrader, or proprietary trading systems. Strong understanding of automated trading systems and algorithmic trading.
- Analytical Skills: Advanced skills in market analysis, including technical and fundamental analysis. Strong command of Excel, VBA, or other analytical tools for financial data.
- Risk Management: Extensive knowledge of risk management principles and tools. Ability to develop and implement risk controls.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant regulations such as those set by the FSCA, SFC, FCA, ESMA, or MiFID II. Understanding of compliance requirements in a CFD brokerage environment.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and client management skills, with the ability to interact with high-net-worth individuals, institutional clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Decision-Making: Ability to make fast, informed decisions under pressure while maintaining focus on risk management.
- Teamwork: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop junior trading talent within the team.
