Senior Underwriter – Asset Finance

Southern England – home based

£70,000 to £90,000 per annum plus good benefits package

Our client is a major provider of innovative asset financing solutions to the UK commercial and corporate community (non-bank). Great culture and an impressive growth story over the last five years.

As it continues to expand it is keen to appoint an experienced credit risk underwriter to assess and sanction new larger value lending transactions.

The role:

• Working alongside a field sales team and their network of introducers to analyse and underwrite new asset finance lending – typical transaction sizes £500,000 to £2 million.
• Detailed assessment of financial information and asset management data to make informed lending decisions whilst protecting the quality and quantity of new business written.
• Meeting specialist finance introducers / brokers and customers in person to assist with individual transactions and encourage future new business introductions of the right quality.
• Assisting the credit leadership team in credit risk policy and portfolio management and in credit committee for larger value transactions.

The candidate:

• An experienced credit risk underwriter with a proven background in sanctioning complex and / or larger value transactions in asset finance, leasing, asset-based lending or commercial / corporate banking.
• Some experience in relationship managing customers and / or introducers would be an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills and some product knowledge encompassing HP, leasing, operating leasing and refinancing would be an advantage.
