Our client is a well-established and well-backed provider of specialist lending solutions to the UK SME sector. As it embarks on further growth, it is keen to appoint a Head of Credit to drive the performance and behaviours of a team of credit risk underwriters.
Responsibilities include:
- Recruit, manage and train a team of credit risk underwriters to manage the quality and quantity of new business that is submitted by the sales team and from introductory sources.
- Personally assessing and underwriting new business applications within the sanctioning authority and making recommendations to the credit committee for transactions in excess of this.
- Contributing to the company credit risk framework and credit appetite guide to ensure the quality and quantity of new business written.
- Devising and delivering credit risk training to create a highly competent, well performing and motivated credit team.
The target candidate:
- An experienced credit risk leader with proven management, coaching and development skills.
- Experienced in credit risk underwriting in asset finance, invoice finance, commercial banking or another similar business lending environment.
- Able to contribute to the ongoing credit risk strategy of the company.
