Our client is a subsidiary of a niche banking group and specialises in the provision of asset finance facilities for the UK SME community.
Responsibilities include:
- Ownership of the general ledger and ensuring all journals posted are accurate and contain strong supporting documentation.
- Prepare monthly analytical reviews and present the month end financial reports for senior manager review and approval.
- Monitor the daily bank reconciliations.
- Own the Asset Finance Division's balance sheet substantiation process and ensure the Asset Finance reconciliations are prepared in accordance with the Group’s policy.
- Liaise with the Business and the Group’s planning team to deliver the annual forecast for Asset Finance.
- Prepare monthly analytical reviews on actual performance against forecasts, presenting to the Asset Finance Board at the monthly meeting.
- Support the Group’s external audit, ensuring audit deliverables are provided in-line with agreed deadlines.
- Liaise with and assist the business on new products being launched and the development of the loan systems.
- Ensure that Finance policies and procedures and all communications with customers incorporate current and relevant technical accounting standards, legislative and regulatory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified / part-qualified - experience of Financial / Management Accounting is essential.
- Previous experience of working within a financial services or a risk based lending environment preferable.
- Some experience of implementing process improvement projects and establishing good working controls is preferable.
- Previous experience working with accounting systems is essential, experience of SUN Systems is desirable.
