The Company: An established financial planning business looking to bring in an experienced Paraplanner to join their Technical Unit; supporting a team of Advisers with the production of technical research, financial planning reports and client recommendations. This is a technically focused opportunity suited to someone with strong Paraplanning experience, particularly across pensions, who is looking for a role with genuine exposure to complex advice and the opportunity to continue progressing towards Advanced Diploma and Chartered Status.

Package: £38-45k DOE + discretionary bonus and full company benefits

The Role: A technically challenging Senior Paraplanning role responsible for producing high-quality reports, research and technical information across the full range of financial planning advice. Working closely with Advisers and the wider Technical Unit, key accountabilities include:

  • Produce accurate and compliant client suitability reports within agreed timescales
  • Assist with the production of client portfolio reviews
  • Provide technical support and responses to client and adviser queries
  • Produce client cash flow models and financial planning projections
  • Assist with the ongoing review and development of preferred provider panels
  • Monitor recommended investment structures and providers
  • Work with the Technical Unit to maintain and update standard reports, recommendation wording, standard paragraphs and technical tools
  • Assist with the training and development of other members of staff across different areas of financial advice
  • Produce technical bulletins and updates for clients and introducers where appropriate
  • Undertake research across pensions, investments and wider financial planning areas
  • Ensure all technical work and client documentation is accurate, compliant and produced within agreed timescales
  • Keep up to date with regulatory, product and provider developments affecting the advice process

The Person: Minimum 3 years' experience within a similar Paraplanning/Technical role in a Financial Services environment is required, alongside the QCF Level 4 CII Diploma (or close to completing). Comprehensive experience across pensions is particularly important, with the successful individual expected to continue working towards the Advanced Diploma and Chartered Status. This is a role that will suit an experienced Paraplanner who enjoys the technical side of financial planning and wants to become increasingly involved in research, technical development, adviser support and the wider development of the firm's advice proposition.
