A multinational London based Law Firm has a new requirement for a Head of Business and Competitive Intelligence to join their growing Knowledge Management function. This is a newly created role for which the immediate priorities will be to work with the Director of Knowledge to outline the vision for the function, establish the key relationships with senior stakeholders and to begin the process of putting into place the tools, resources, structure and processes required to deliver this service.

Initially, the role will almost certainly require an element of providing research services, but in the medium term, objectives will move to planning for team growth and scaling up this research provision. The overarching objective of the function will be to provide a research provision that feeds into the firm's strategic initiatives, competitive intelligence and business development.

To be a suitable candidate for this Head of Business & Competitive Intelligence role, candidates require the following:

  • Experience building and leading research teams
  • Operating at a tactical and strategic level
  • Considerable research and analysis experience gained in a legal or professional services setting
  • An expert in the provision of actionable insight utilising multiple data and information sources
  • Broad research expertise that encompasses the ability to pivot across multiple sectors, topics and industries
  • Highly refined relationship building and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience across a wide spectrum of data, information resources and reporting tools
  • An ability to present, to make recommendations and to persuade or influence senior stakeholders
