As part of the process of formalising and establishing a Knowledge Management function over the past 12 months, a long established and extremely successful UK law firm has a requirement for a Knowledge and Learning Systems Adviser to join their team. The successful candidate will work closely with the firm’s Trainer and other key stakeholders, focusing on learning and knowledge management systems, training, and legal resources. This role offers strong opportunities for professional and personal development and is well suited to an information, library or KM professional who enjoys improving systems and supporting change.

The core responsibilities and objectives of this Knowledge and Learning Systems Adviser role include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting in the roll-out, management and continuous improvement of the firms new Learning Management System.
  • Supporting on training initiatives, including the organisation of refresher training on legal and AI resources/tools.
  • Assisting in the roll-out of the firms new KM Systems including the collection, tagging and uploading of internal knowhow.
  • Ongoing maintenance, management and continuous development of the firms KM System.
  • Supporting in the management of the firms research resources including championing online and hardcopy research resources, analysis of usage and the provision of training.
  • Supporting in the evaluation, testing and onboarding of new products.

To be suitable for this role, candidates will require the following:

  • Some similar or previous experience with Knowledge Management or Learning Management Systems (KMS and LMS).
  • Exposure to legal research databases and resources.
  • Refined communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills.
  • An interest in systems and technology and a demonstrable ability to quickly learn and to master new technology.
  • A solution orientated mindset and an ability to demonstrate initiative in addressing challenges and problems.
  • A qualification aligned to Knowledge Management, Information Management or Libraries would be a distinct advantage, as would working in a legal setting.
