PREP Technician – Near Wakefield (Retail Car Main Dealer)

About the Opportunity

We are a leading retail car main dealer near Wakefield, and we are looking for a dedicated PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) Technician to join our clients growing team. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough Pre-Delivery Inspections on new and used vehicles, ensuring they meet the highest standards before handover to customers.
• Perform checks and adjustments according to manufacturer guidelines and dealership standards.
• Identify and report any defects, damages, or necessary repairs.
• Carry out minor mechanical work, including fluid checks, tyre pressure adjustments, and battery checks.
• Install accessories and optional extras as required.
• Carry out routine maintenance and small mechanical repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of all work completed.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and best practices.
• Work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues.

Skills and Qualifications

• Previous experience as a PDI Technician or Vehicle Technician is preferred.
• A strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and electrical systems.
• Ability to work methodically and efficiently with a high level of attention to detail.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• A proactive and positive attitude with a drive to deliver quality work.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent) would be advantageous, but not essential.
