The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic HGV Technician to join a busy workshop team in Nottingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a leading main dealer with a great reputation, using the latest diagnostic equipment and working on a varied range of heavy goods vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of HGV\’s.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
- Perform complex repairs, including engine, transmission, brake, and suspension work.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Skills and Experience Required
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician in a similar environment.
- Formal qualifications in Heavy Vehicle Repair (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to use diagnostic equipment effectively.
- Sound knowledge of HGV mechanics and electrics.
- Ability to work to deadlines and maintain high levels of quality.
- A full UK driving license (HGV license preferred, but not essential).
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
