This is a full-time, on-site Flooring Installer role based in the Southwark area of London. The Flooring Installer will prepare subfloors by cleaning, leveling, and repairing surfaces, and will install a variety of flooring materials according to project plans and manufacturer guidelines. Daily tasks include measuring and cutting materials, fitting and securing flooring, and finishing edges and transitions to a high standard. The role also involves inspecting completed work, identifying and correcting defects, and ensuring that all work complies with safety and quality requirements. The Flooring Installer will work closely with site supervisors, other trades, and clients, maintaining clear communication and a tidy work environment.
Qualifications
- Practical experience with general flooring installation, including surface preparation and finishing.
- Proficiency in Vinyl and LVT installation techniques.
- Ability to install Carpet, including underlay, stretching, and accurate trimming around fixtures.
- Strong measurement, basic math, and hand-tool skills, with the ability to read and follow plans or specifications.
- Commitment to health and safety practices, including safe handling of tools, materials, and adhesives.
- Reliable transportation to sites within the Southwark area of London.
- Previous flooring or construction experience preferred; relevant vocational training or certifications are an advantage.
