Job Summary

Social Media Manager – Richmond, UK.

Full‑time, onsite position with a fixed‑term contract of 12 months.

This role leads the end‑to‑end social media strategy and execution across Instagram, Tik Tok, Reddit, Eurostaffs, and Facebook, ensuring a native, content‑first approach.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, produce, schedule and publish platform‑specific content on all social channels.
  • Build and maintain a coordinated content calendar that covers every channel and provides visibility to the wider business.
  • Operate with a low budget, prioritising creativity over production value.
  • Brief, manage and quality‑check external agencies producing content on brand, on time and on budget.
  • Collaborate with brand, product and customer teams to surface internal stories and convert them into publishable content.
  • Manage day‑to‑day community engagement, responding in Cazoo’s voice and handling issues with judgment.
  • Conduct social listening to track conversations about Cazoo, the used‑car market and the wider category, feeding insights back into planning.
  • Perform competitive analysis to sharpen our own approach.
  • Own reporting across all channels, track performance, and make clear recommendations for future improvements.
  • Produce social content for the Brentford partnership activations and related campaigns.
  • Create fast‑turnaround reactive content tied to trends and broader conversations.
  • Brief and manage influencers and creators for hero campaigns, UGC and reach‑expansion initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing social media across multiple platforms, including Instagram, Tik Tok, Reddit, Eurostaffs and Facebook.
  • Deep understanding of each platform’s native content styles and how to tailor content accordingly.
  • Strong organisational skills – able to operate a comprehensive multi‑channel content calendar without omissions.
  • Experience managing agencies or external partners.
  • Comfortable presenting or speaking on camera and creating your own content.
  • Excellent copywriting ability and a keen sense of brand voice.
  • Confident in using social analytics to drive clear recommendations.
  • Calm, sensible, and effective at community engagement during challenging situations.
  • Commercial awareness – understanding how social supports brand growth and business objectives.
  • Knowledge of paid and organic social integration to scale reach and performance.
  • Useful but not essential: experience in automotive, retail, e‑commerce or a fast‑moving consumer brand.
  • Familiarity with social listening and competitor tracking tools.
  • Basic video and photo editing for quick‑turnaround content.
  • Experience with Meta Ads, Google Analytics or Canva is a plus.
