This is a high-impact, hands-on People Partner role focused primarily on partnering with Commercial and Sales teams, with real ownership and autonomy. You’ll report to the Head of People and work closely alongside an incoming Senior People Partner and a wider People team, focused on Ops, Experience & Talent.
This role exists to raise the standard of leadership, performance and accountability across the business. You will play a critical role in strengthening manager capability, handling complex people matters with confidence, and translating People strategy into action that genuinely lands in the business. You’ll be expected to operate independently, challenge constructively, and build credibility through strong judgment, visibility and follow-through.
What You’ll Do
- Business Partnering
- Partner with leaders and managers across multiple functions.
- Coach managers to lead high-performing, accountable teams – focusing on performance, behaviour, engagement and role clarity.
- Proactively identify people risks and opportunities and take early, decisive action.
- Build trusted, credible relationships while maintaining high standards and healthy challenge.
- Performance & Employee Relations
- Lead performance and capability conversations across the business, including underperformance, restructures and exits.
- Manage employee relations cases independently, with empathy, fairness and strong judgment.
- Ensure performance expectations are clear, consistent and aligned to the company’s performance framework.
- Coach managers on handling underperformance early and constructively.
- Partner closely with the Head of People and People Ops Lead on pay, promotion and calibration decisions, providing evidence-based insight and recommendations.
- Translate People strategy into practical, manager-ready actions that land effectively.
- Deliver practical manager guidance and training sessions.
- Support rollout of leadership training, behaviours and performance standards.
- Contribute to manager onboarding improvements.
- Reinforce clarity around expectations, role scope and accountability.
- Change & Culture Support
- Work closely with the rest of the People Team to embed our cultural transformation – ensuring People processes support a high-performance, high-engagement environment.
- Translate new frameworks into practical tools for managers.
- Act as a visible champion of ownership, pace and accountability.
- People visibility, credibility & insight
- Raise the visibility and credibility of the People team through strong partnering and consistent delivery.
- Use people data and insight to inform decisions, challenge assumptions and prioritise action – not reporting for reporting’s sake.
- Act as a role model for the People Team’s values: dynamic, transparent, and people-first.
What You’ll Bring
- Previous experience as a HR Business Partner / People Partner in a fast-paced, autonomous and transforming environment.
- Experience supporting Sales or Commercial teams preferred.
- Strong, practical knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations.
- Proven experience coaching and challenging managers at pace.
- Experience supporting change and growth, not just steady-state organisations.
- Commercial, pragmatic and action-oriented.
- Confident in making decisions and standing by them.
- Excellent communicator who understands the importance of clarity and follow-through; able to translate complexity into simplicity for managers and teams.
- Thrives in evolving, imperfect environments.
- Independent and proactive – you take ownership, spot what needs doing, and make it happen.
- Grounded and pragmatic – you balance pace and delivery with warmth and empathy.
- A great people person with strong HR judgement and high standards.
You’ll be joining at a point where People work genuinely matters, and you’ll have:
- Real scope and ownership across the business.
- A Head of People who expects independence and backs you.
- A People Ops and Experience setup that allows you to focus on partnering, performance and impact.
