About the role
We are seeking a Software Engineer (C#.Net) developer to join the London software development team. The Software Development team is responsible for building out the next generation of highly scalable, reusable and performant distributed services and applications for Caxton users. You will evaluate and use the latest .Net and open-source technologies to deliver, maintain and enhance new and existing applications.
As a member of the software development team, you will be expected to:
- Work on multiple concurrent projects and priorities
- Work closely with end-users and other team members to gather use cases and translate them into functional components and applications
- Strike the correct balance between performance, scalability, maintainability and go-to market time when designing a solution
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, unit tested and reliable code
- Demonstrate excellent problem solving and teamwork skills
Experience
- Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or a related field
- At least 2 years of software development experience using C# and .NET
- Good knowledge of C# .Net and object-oriented programming concepts
- Ability to think critically and develop innovative solutions
- Experience with Visual Studio and NuGet packages
- Experience of Test-driven development, Unit testing, CI/CD
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git)
- Experience of writing reusable libraries and windows services
- Some SQL database experience (e.g. MS SQL, MySql, Oracle)
- Experience and understanding of relational database schemas
- Effective communicator, able to collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and clients
- Operates with the highest degree of ethics and integrity

- Knowledge of financial products and market data
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP and networks
- Containerisation experience (Docker)
