This role is located in NRM, within the Cawood Scientific Agriculture Division. NRM, part of the Cawood Scientific Group, are the UK’s largest independent provider of agronomic and environmental waste analysis for land-based industries. We offer water, soil, manures, fertilisers and plant tissue analysis to farmers, growers and agronomists for improved farm productivity, as well as land-based environmental services including composted waste, anaerobic digestate, effluents and industrial renewables. Job Description
Here at Cawood , we are looking for a Team Leader to join our Analytical team in NRM Swaffham.
Job Duties
- Support the Site Lead by coaching, counselling, motivating, and managing performance as needed; planning, monitoring and appraising job results; directing and maintaining activities designed to achieve and maintain high employee morale; fostering intra- and inter-department cooperation.
- Mentoring and training of the team
- Support the Site Lead in the process of managing the recruitment and engagement of the team and the ongoing development of the individuals.
- Manages staff workloads according to established company policy and procedures.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and secure working environment by establishing and enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Ensures compliance with the NRM\’s Management System and any procedures by initiating and monitoring all relevant data.
- Support in any reasonable duties as requested by line manager.
- Ensure communication channels affecting the work area are managed well, both down through the team and cross section, especially with Quality, IT, Customer Services, Sales.
- Maintain a strong customer focus, ensure all analytical results are entered accurately into the Laboratory Information System (LIMS) system to ensure a first-class fast service.
- Support the Site Lead so that all analytical work is carried out in accordance with the NRM management System. That all activities are carried out by trained employees on fit for purpose equipment, while implementing business improvement processes and projects in their area.
- Active member of the local management team to promote continuous improvement in all key areas, especially around people, the customer, quality, Health and Safety.
- Act as a technical function within the department dependant on qualifications and experience.
- Runs the daily production meetings with the team and reports up to the Site Lead each day.
- To complete training to be a Fire Marshall, First Aider or Internal Auditor as required by the business
