Cawood is the largest independent provider of analytical laboratory testing and sampling services for the land-based industries in the UK. With 15 sites around the country specialising in different types of analysis, we are always looking for skilled and talented individuals to join our teams. This is an exciting time to join Cawood. Job Purpose Statement
To extract samples in preparation for analysis by GC/MS, HPLC, IC etc.
Job Accountabilities and Main Duties
- Routine air and biological sample preparation as determined by training record.
- Calibration and operation of equipment as defined by training record.
- Maintaining stocks of reagents and equipment.
- Understand and follow procedures provided, ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 (UKAS) and the internal Quality Management System.
- Work as a team and maintain morale, actively offering help and assistance wherever possible.
- Responsible for keeping safety at the forefront of lab work and being proactive in ensuring accidents and near misses are reported straightaway to Managers in line with our company accreditation and policy.
- When required, assist with on-site training of new employees, providing proactive support to ensure their onboarding into the company is friendly, engaging and inspiring.
