Description
This is an entry level position with no prior experience required as training, including manual handling, will be provided. Experience working in a busy environment is preferred. This role involves some heavy lifting.
Core Role
Working as part of the wider Soil Department, the main role of a Soil Technician is to organise samples when they are first received at the site ahead of booking in, preparation and analysis.
Core Accountabilities
· Open received samples, dry, prepare and extract for analysis
· Unload and move heavy batches of samples around the laboratory and site
· Work with safety and compliance at the heart of all processes
· Use specialist equipment as part of the sample preparation process
· Communicate effectively with other departments and occasionally customers
· Maintain equipment and working environment as required
· Suitable candidates will also have, enthusiasm, energy, and strong communications skills.
