This role is located in our business unit, Enitial, within the Cawood Scientific Field Services Division. Enitial, a division of Cawood Scientific, is the UK's leading provider of independent field monitoring and sampling services. Our highly skilled team of 80 technicians acts as the 'boots on the ground' for customers throughout the UK, providing cost-effective on-site sampling, testing, and measuring of environmental conditions as well as checks on pollution levels. Our expertise in industrial and environmental monitoring, combined with our innovative control equipment, delivers a specialist service for customers looking for professional, reliable support. Our services are used to assist with permit and planning consent compliance, investigations for new development, and to support operational condition monitoring.
The Cawood Group have an exciting opportunity as Construction Environmental Monitoring Technician, on a permanent full-time basis based in the West Midlands. Working as part of a team, the successful candidates will be primarily involved in a prestigious, long-term infrastructure project.
Key Responsibilities:- Assisting with the management of methods to be used on site and instigating new services aligned with promoting the Enitial brand.
- Leading projects and liaising with a Project Manager, Site Managers, Data Analyst and the Client to ensure projects are implemented positively, professionally and in line with British guidance or client requirements.
- Providing a reliable, efficient, and professional level of service to our clients.
- Managing data accurately and in line with client/company requirements. Reporting data through to the Data Analysts timely and in the correct format.
- Keeping safety at the forefront of field works and being proactive in ensuring accidents and near misses are reported straightaway to the Project Manager and client in line with our company accreditation and policy.
- Liaising with laboratories and couriers ensuring samples taken in the field are compliant.
- Providing routine company admin through to central systems including expenses and vehicle checks on a monthly basis.
- Assisting with on-site training of new employees providing proactive support to ensure their onboarding into the company is friendly, engaging and inspiring.
- Conducting routine environmental monitoring and sampling in accordance with company protocols, quality assurance requirements and our client's contract specifications.
The role will require some travel and will be site-based in sometimes challenging weather conditions.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience:- Ideally have a minimum of 2 years field-based environmental testing experience and knowledge or specialist project service-related experience.
- Scientific degree (Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, etc.) preferred, but not essential.
- Proven track record in communication and teamwork.
- Skills in Microsoft Office.
- Must have a full UK Driving License.
- CSCS is preferred (must be willing to work towards).
