Goods In Raw Material Specialist role in a high-volume soft drinks manufacturing environment. The role supports the operational requirements of the Goods In, Processing and Productions teams within a single-site facility in North Yorkshire.

Key Accountabilities

  • Operate powered industrial manual handling equipment, including pallet trucks and forklifts, to load and unload materials.
  • Pre-assemble, pick and organise stock to be moved into the production “Kanban” areas.
  • Move components to and from loading areas, storage areas and machinery.
  • Return unconsumed componentry to storage areas post-production.
  • Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards and report/liaise with quality assurance staff to report defects or variances as required.
  • Examine products to verify that component information (e.g. batching, customer code, stock quantity) is correct between physical containers and the WMS.
  • Act as a link between Goods In, Production and Process (Syrup Mixing) teams to ensure accurate and timely picking of materials for works orders.
  • Ensure that stock variances, identification issues or batch discrepancies are identified and reported through appropriate channels in a timely manner.
  • Work with an exceptional level of accuracy in relation to system and physical stock movements from the point of receipt, to correct placement in storage locations through to consumption.

Additional duties

  • From time to time assist with loading/unloading of materials as required: check that loads are secure upon intake and/or shipping.
  • Unload/load and book in packaging in accordance with Company Warehouse Management System procedures.
  • Escalate any late deliveries via the current internal procedures.
  • Control the assembly of back-loads and the return of damaged or non-conforming components and returnable equipment to suppliers.
  • Fulfil and complete all procedural requirements and paperwork to a high standard.
  • Assist the Stock Control Team in undertaking periodic stock checks of componentry as and when required.
  • Assist with the handling of recycling / waste streams as required.
  • Keep the warehouse, working areas and grounds clean and tidy at all times.
  • Be flexible and assist other areas of the business with reasonable requests as required.

Ideally candidates will have

  • Experience in a Goods In and FMCG setting is essential.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and often in a time-pressured environment.
  • Valid reach truck and counterbalance forklift licences are essential.
  • Experience in a warehouse setting is preferred.
  • Confident.

Shift pattern

Continental Shift Pattern - 4 on 4 off (2 days, 2 nights), 12 hours 6am-6pm / 6pm-6am.
