With a new MD and new investment, this American owned SME is poised for significant growth. The MD's skills lie on the sales side of the business and he is now looking for a strong Finance Manager to work closely with him to achieve his ambitious aims for the business.
Whilst this is a remote role, you will be expected to be able to travel to sites around the country and liaise with site managers - probably on a quarterly basis. Candidates from East Anglia or the Midlands will take preference over others.
To advance to interview stage, you must demonstrate the following on your CV:
- Strong experience of project accounting including monitoring spend and profit margins and liaising with Site Managers
- Excellent knowledge of Excel
- Developing systems and internal controls - the company is currently running Sage 50 and Dynamics 365 in parallel and there is plenty to do in this area
- Preparing monthly management accounts
- Reporting to the US parent company
- Preparation of year end accounts and liaising with auditors
- Budgets and quarterly re forecasting
- Monitoring and maintaining cashflow
At this stage of the company's growth there will be some hands on posting of journals and control accounts. Ideally, you will be highly commercial with the ability to delve into numbers and interrogate what you are seeing. You may have a background in the construction industry, oil and gas or other project driven businesses.
