What we’re all about:

Cavendish is all about talented people, delivering excellent results for our clients. We are a multi-award-winning, PR Week Top 150 agency, PRCA’s Large Consultancy of the Year and are the UK’s number one agency for public affairs.

What you will get from us:

You’ll have the opportunity to take your career to the next level, working with dynamic, talented people in a fast-paced and expanding organisation. Alongside a competitive salary, we provide extensive training and development opportunities and an industry-leading benefits package including:

  • A flexible, hybrid working model
  • Access to mentorship from some of the best minds in the industry
  • Industry-leading allocation of paid time off
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Regular social and teambuilding events
  • Paid time off to volunteer for a charity

What we are looking for:

You are naturally curious. You consume politics because you enjoy it, not because you must. You follow parliamentary debates and understand the machinery of government, but you're equally fascinated by the forces shaping society beyond Westminster.

You have opinions about how artificial intelligence will change trust and influence. You understand why societal polarisation matters to brands. You can see how a culture war issue might affect an organisation's reputation just as confidently as you can follow a Bill progressing through Parliament.

You are excited by complexity.

You recognise that organisations increasingly operate in contested environments shaped by political fragmentation, technological disruption and changing public expectations. You enjoy helping leaders navigate those challenges.

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have experience in politics, public affairs or corporate affairs
  • Are deeply interested in politics, policy and current affairs beyond the daily headlines
  • Recognise how societal polarisation, attention dynamics and technological change can impact organisations and brands
  • Are curious about AI and excited by how it can transform the way we work
  • Have an interest in sectors such as technology, health, energy or other areas undergoing significant disruption
  • Can move comfortably between discussions about legislation, regulation, reputation and culture
  • Build trusted relationships quickly and communicate with authority
  • Are ambitious, collaborative and eager to shape the future of corporate affairs

This isn't a role for someone who simply wants to report on politics.

It's for someone who wants to help organisations make better decisions in a world that is increasingly complex, contested and constantly changing.

What you’ll need to do:

You will act as part of a wider account team, supporting across a portfolio of corporate affairs clients. You will support teams and clients in identifying what is happening across the world of politics which will have an impact on them. You will work to deliver engagement across the political landscape for your clients.

Your specific duties will include:

  • Acting as a core member of account teams, supporting the delivery of corporate affairs and government relations strategies.
  • Monitoring for key political developments and helping clients to understand what they mean for their organisation and how they should respond.
  • Undertaking research projects and providing insight into key policy areas or key political individuals and influencers.
  • Looking to support clients across political, media and digital engagement.
  • Using your network across Westminster, Whitehall and the media to support insight gathering, stakeholder engagement and profile-building activity for clients.
  • Supporting new business opportunities, contributing to proposals and pitches, and helping grow existing accounts through strong client relationships and strategic thinking.

We are a disability confident employer.
