My client is an established London-based main contractor, delivering high-quality construction, refurbishment and design & build projects across both the public and private sectors. The business has built a strong reputation for delivering projects with a focus on quality, innovation, sustainability and attention to detail, working across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments.
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Buyer to join our team based full-time at our Wembley office.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for procuring materials, plant and subcontract packages, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure materials, plant and subcontract services for multiple construction projects.
- Obtain competitive quotations and negotiate with suppliers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure materials are delivered in line with project programmes.
- Work closely with the Commercial and Project Management teams.
- Monitor costs and identify value engineering opportunities.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and purchase orders.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Buyer within a construction contractor or design & build company.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials and supply chains.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement systems.
