Our client is a Mechanical & Electrical Design Consultancy who work on a diverse range of exciting projects including commercial developments, high-end residential buildings, hotels, healthcare facilities, and data centres. Due to continued growth they are now looking to hire a Principal Mechanical Engineer on a full time basis for projects in London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects from concept through to completion.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Develop innovative and sustainable mechanical engineering designs in line with client requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct detailed analysis and simulations to optimise system performance.
- Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and documentation.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, architects, and stakeholders to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Participate in client meetings, presenting design solutions and progress updates.
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant regulations, standards, and quality assurance procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards it.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with significant experience in a consulting environment.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
- Strong technical knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building services.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, simulation tools).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage client relationships effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
