We’re seeking an experienced Senior Technical Designer to join a creative fabrication and design studio specialising in brand experiences, bespoke installations, and high-quality retail and exhibition environments. The team delivers innovative, design-led projects, from one-off experiential pieces to full-scale commercial fit-outs, combining craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology and a strong focus on sustainability.
Core Knowledge Base
- Excellent knowledge of SolidWorks, CAD, Fusion 360, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Understanding of 3D printing and rendering software such as Cinema 4D or Keyshot (desirable).
- Strong tooling, machining, and material knowledge.
- Good understanding of electrical and electronic systems (desirable).
- Ability to interpret and develop technical packs from external sources.
- Excellent understanding of Health & Safety standards.
- Aware of sustainable materials and production methods.
Core Areas of Responsibility
- Develop and refine concepts through to technical detail and presentation.
- Collaborate with project management, design, and fabrication teams to optimise processes and ensure quality delivery within agreed timescales.
- Oversee prototyping and production of live projects.
- Provide technical project management support throughout all stages of design and manufacture.
- Maintain a strong focus on Health & Safety and sustainable working practices.
Main Duties
- Manage allocated design projects from CAD build and presentation through to realisation.
- Liaise with design leads, artworkers, and project managers to ensure technical and creative alignment.
- Create detailed CAD models and technical drawings for manufacture.
- Present and communicate designs to internal teams and clients effectively.
- Conduct site surveys and support installation activities when required.
