I am currently seeking a Junior Estimator for work with a specialist steelwork and architectural metalwork contractor based in Basildon (Essex). This role is open to a contract or a permanent position for the right candidate.
This role would include but not be limited to the below:
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
- Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to understand project requirements.
- Perform quantity take-offs and material lists for various construction trades.
- Research and gather pricing information from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Support senior estimators in preparing bid proposals and presentations.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, and correspondence.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy and feasibility of estimates.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as necessary.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
- Experience as a Junior Estimator or similar.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
