Our client is a leading London based recycling and waste management organisation supporting construction, commercial, local authority and waste-sector clients with sustainable resource management. They are seeking an experienced HR & People Coordinator to support the Head of HR & People with day-to-day HR administration and people-related activities across the business. The role will support the full employee lifecycle while contributing to HR projects, employee engagement and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage HR administration including contracts, offer letters, Right to Work checks, references, probation, changes to terms and leaver processes.
- Coordinate the HR induction programme and maintain accurate employee records and HR systems.
- Support absence management, return-to-work meetings, medical referrals and workplace adjustments.
- Assist with disciplinary, capability and grievance processes, including minute-taking.
- Support recruitment activities including advertising, candidate screening, interview coordination and candidate feedback.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date job descriptions and the job role library.
- Support employee engagement surveys and wider HR projects.
- Coordinate training and development administration, including apprenticeships, work experience and management training.
- Assist with the annual appraisal process.
- Maintain employee data and support HR reporting.
- Travel to other sites on an ad-hoc basis when required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in HR administration, ideally within a multi-site organisation.
- Good knowledge of HR processes and practices.
- Experience using HR systems and producing HR reports.
- CIPD Level 3 or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in the construction/waste management sector - desirable.
- The successful candidate must be able to drive and travel to other depot locations as required.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional, empathetic and confidential approach.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Proactive and collaborative approach with the ability to work independently.
