SHEQ Manager
About the Company
A leading London-based recycling and waste management business, operating multiple sites and committed to sustainability, innovation, and community engagement. The company diverts 100% of waste from landfill, invests in renewable energy, and maintains top-level accreditations across Quality (ISO 9001), Environmental (ISO 14001), and Health & Safety (ISO 45001).
The Role
Reporting to the SHEQ Manager, the SHEQ Advisor will support compliance across health, safety, environmental and quality systems, ensuring all operations meet legal and regulatory requirements. The position offers career development with training and professional qualifications such as WAMITAB and Internal Audit (SHEQ).
This is a varied role combining administration and site-based work (3–4 days per week), so a full UK driving licence is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Administration:
- Support SHEQ meetings, document control, and audit preparation
- Maintain policies, procedures, and KPI reporting
- Manage risk assessments, feedback systems, and employee SHEQ records
- Assist with toolbox talks and induction records
- Support tender and pre-qualification documentation
Site Work:
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety checks
- Support with risk assessments, RAMS reviews, and emergency drills
- Deliver site inductions and assist with incident investigations
Environmental Support:
- Assist with Environmental Agency inspections and follow-up actions
- Monitor environmental performance (noise, dust, complaints)
- Support environmental sampling and testing administration
Key Skills & Attributes
- Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
- Proactive, adaptable, and confident communicator
- Strong IT skills, especially in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent)
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Willingness to undertake further SHEQ training and qualifications
